Let’s make something amazing together
Biography
Dino Cortiana is an Italian artist who has chosen to establish his atelier in Ibiza, in a space open to the Mediterranean horizon.
From this luminous distance, he observes the tensions of the contemporary world with clarity and restraint. His research does not arise from the urge to denounce, but from the necessity to question what appears stable, shared, untouchable.
Cortiana works with icons: universally recognized symbols that embody knowledge, power, freedom and balance. He removes them from their monumental dimension and returns them to a more fragile, exposed, human condition. His figures are not destroyed, but placed in suspension — as if passing through a silent moment before transformation.
There is no shouted provocation.
There is no rhetoric.
Between pop culture and collective memory, between irony and restrained tension, his work explores the boundary between surface and depth — like a horizon that appears calm yet holds movement beneath. The light and openness of the Mediterranean landscape do not become escape, but contrast: a visual counterpoint to the symbolic fractures of the present.
In an era dominated by polarization and simplification, his painting chooses complexity.
It does not offer definitive answers.
It opens spaces of awareness.
Dino Cortiana’s works are currently held in private collections in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom, reflecting a practice that resonates across different cultural contexts while remaining rooted in critical observation and symbolic depth.
